It has recently been brought to my attention that a Smith Alum and her husband, a film executive producer, are coming to Smith College on Tuesday Oct. 21st for the film screening of "A Walk To Beautiful". This is an award-winning feature-length documentary on the experiences of five Ethiopian women who have sustained injuries after giving birth. For more information about the film and the production company, visit them at their website. For information about the film screening at Smith, check out their featured news release for the event.

It's friday, and I'M IN LOVE !!! With several new jams that is. Hope you all take a chance and download these new posted songs for your enjoyment.
Listen to this mashup by DJ Earworm. It's an amazing eerie mix with the smooth riffs of Radiohead's Reckoner, and Kanye West's promising lyrics and voice from his Love Lockdown.DJ Earworm - Reckoner Lockdown (Radiohead vs. Kanye West)
Daytrotter just recorded a session with the Mid-western band Little Brazil. They've got a lot of laid back sounds going on. The Pavement, and Nada Surf influences are dully noted, however, they still manage to stray away from their predicesors' musical reputations. With the right efforts, I see this band going places.

As much as I dislike this band, the Black Kids have managed to make me settle for indifference with my odd love for this song. Despite the obnoxious repetitive yelps and screams from the band in the song, it still manages to get me dancing and repeat the song throughout a day like today.
Black Kids - I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You (LIVE DAYTROTTER SESSION)
Feeling a little bubbly and in need for some electronic beats? Ratatat's Mirando can get you into the mood (Thanks Pitchfork). A lovely way to escape your way into Friday's madness.

I'd like to end your musical exploration with a REMARKABLE film called KILL YOUR IDOLS, available free through Pitchfork.tv ONLY THIS WEEK (i.e. get on it!). Oh, how I love the availability of things via internet. ENJOY!
