Turn iT UP!

Today is a day for music.
Today we dance, we sway, we sing.
It's on for some good downloads. Enjoy.

Emily Haines Opens up
Metric's lead vocals, Emily Haines, opens up about her new inspiration and how she reconnected with herself in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After venturing out on her own and exposing herself to an environment she had no relation to, Haines writes up some great material for the bands new album. The raw truths she expresses in the band's website are quite eerie but reassuring all at once, that the band still has more than life in it. With the sample of one of the featured songs that will be released with the new album in Winter '09 and documented clips of the process, Metric succeeds to retain their fans in suspense and full commitment.

Norwegian Rockers? Yup.
Simon Says No! has released a free download off of Filter entitled "Sleeping Heart" and it's a surprisingly kickback song. It's not one of the life changing songs, or revolutionary gateways into a new a genre of music, however, it's some rockin' jams from these Norwegian dudes. I'd say it's a good listen for car trips, short rides, or just a casual listen.

Eagle Rock kids
These guys from the band Princeton come from about 2 mins away from my neighborhood in L.A., and have become one of my favorite listens in the past month. They've toured with Ra Ra Riot, Vampire Weekend, and the Little Ones. To check out more about the band look them up on their myspace, they've got a few featured articles lined up about themselves. Here's a youtube clip of the band of "Eminent Victorians"and mp3 of "The Waves".
